OUR MISSION
Culture Academy’s mission is to enhance the lives of underserved scholars in the United States through global education, intercultural dialogue, and experiential learning. We believe providing students with a chance to enhance their global literacy and cultural competence will empower them to face and solve our world's most dire problems.
Now more than ever is the time to cultivate motivated, engaged, confident, and versatile learners.
SEE THE WORLD LIKE AN ANTHROPOLOGIST
"The purpose of anthropology is to make the world safe for human differences."
Ruth Benedict
GLOBAL COMPETENCE
‘Global competency’ prepares individuals to live and work in a world where engaging with different cultures is not an exception but a daily reality. This is why we are committed to fostering true global leaders by enhancing every student’s ability to communicate within and adapt to our ever-changing world.
CULTURAL COMPETENCE
While having a keen understanding of our global system and its problems is crucial, it is insufficient to solving these problems. Students must be well-versed in understanding how culture influences the ways in which we think about and create solutions to our global problems. Although there are different cultural, geographical, and political responses to common global issues, we need to tether these responses to united goals.
EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING
While necessary, particularly at this juncture in time, virtual learning is no substitute for experiential global learning. Online education is becoming a necessity and teachers need creative, innovative ways to engage students while still maintaining the importance of face-to-face interactions.
ABOUT
Culture Academy enhances the lives of underserved scholars in the United States through global education, intercultural dialogue, and experiential learning. To increase global literacy, we use an anthropological approach to challenge students' daily assumptions of people, cultures, and politics.
